1977 Ak-Kim was established under the name Ak-Kim Kimya Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and started production of its first product, sulfur dioxide. By the end of the year it reached 1.000 tons of production.
1979 Construction of the factory in Çerkezköy Organized Industrial Zone was completed.
1980 In April Çerkezköy facility that has an annual sodium metabisulphite production capacity of 1.100 tons was activated.
1981 Ak-Kim started persulphate production that is very significant for domestic industry, in its Çerkezköy facility.
1982 Textiles Softener and Wetting Agent facility was established and activated in Çerkezköy.
1984 Ak-Kim started to produce Sodiumthiosulphate and Ferric III Chloride.
1986 Ak-Kim started production of dimethylacetamide (DMAC).
1988 After operating in Çerkezköy for 5 years, due to changing and developing circumstances Textiles Softener and Wetting Agent facility was moved to the Textiles Auxiliaries (Teksyar) facility that was established in Yalova in January 1988.
1989 Ak-Kim started to produce Methylamines. Aktem Distributorship Company was established for more effective marketing of Ak-Kim products.
1990 Ak-Kim started production of dimethylformamide.
1993 Ak-Kim undersigned Responsible Care Program and became one of the first companies in Turkey applying this program.
1995 Ak-Kim was certified with ISO 9001:1994 Quality System Management.
1998 The Company was given “Best Supplier of the Year” award by Beksa. Ak-Kim Hydrogen Peroxide facility started production.
2002 Ak-Kim that has placed great importance on technology since its inception, started to export the know-how it has accumulated as a result of the R&D studies under its structure.
2004 Ak-Kim was certified with ISO 14001:1996 Environmental Management System.
2005 Ak-Kim started to produce pulp & paper chemicals.
2006 Ak-Kim Sodium Percarbonate (SPC) facility became operational in November 2006.
2007 As an indicator of its sustainability and corporate citizenship understanding, Ak-Kim signed the United Nations Global Compact. The Company started production of concrete admixtures.
2008 The Company added isopropylamine to its product range.
2009 Ak-Kim was certified with OHSAS 18001:2007 Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems. The Company received The Best Supplier award from Cargill.
2010 During “Petkim Quality Day and 45th Establishment Anniversary” Ak-Kim received “The Best Performance Supplier of 2009” award in “Localization” category. Parallel with the change in its corporate identity, the Company logo was renewed. The new logo as a whole demonstrated the change and dynamic and energetic structure of Ak-Kim and its multicolor design symbolized the diverse product range and creativity.
