Chlorine and Caustic Soda (Sodium hydroxide) are among those chemicals that are accepted as building blocks of the chemicals industry. Those two basic chemicals are used in numerous fields in our daily lives. They are used in many fields from disinfection of drinking water, textile industry, production of pharmaceuticals and medical devices, production of floor coverings and plastic pipes to the defense industry.
Chlorine-Alkaline Facility among Inorganic Facilities produces vital chemicals for our country such as Chlorine, Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda), Hydrochloric Acid, and Sodium Hypochlorite (Bleach).
The Chlorine Alkaline Facility was established in 1992 with the ICI license. Membrane electrolyzer production technology that was chosen at establishment stage instead of the mercury production, which has been abandoned in the world, is still employed as the production technology in the facility.
With new investments in 2005 and 2008, the electrolyzers that were MONOPOLAR in 1992 were replaced with BIPOLAR type electrolyzers that were provided from Chlorine Engineer’s company in Japan which is one of the major companies in the world in its field. With this modernization, more efficient production has been achieved with using less energy.
Production in Chlorine Alkaline Facility is made completely with high-tech process control systems and computer help.
Salt Facility |

In Salt Facility, which is a part of the Inorganic Facilities, productions of Sodium Metabisulphite, Sodium Thiosulphate, Trimethylamine Hydrochloride, Iron III Chloride, and Monochloro Acetic Acid are done conscious of responsibilities towards the environment, the human health, and security of life and property and with modern technological processes under computerized control mechanisms.
Such products meet the need for chemicals in many fields and are exported in significant amounts.
