As a result of great investments and efforts, AK-KIM started Hydrogen Peroxide production in February 1998. Being the first in Turkey, production of Hydrogen Peroxide is an important development for Turkish Chemicals Sector. Under current circumstances the Hydrogen Peroxide facility has a production capacity of 30,000 tons/annum.
Hydrogen Peroxide is an environmental friendly chemical. As it can be seen from its molecular formulation, it is composed of hydrogen and oxygen and is transformed into water and oxygen after use without giving any damage to the environment. Thanks to its high oxygen content, it ensures a better performance when compared with other oxidizing agents.
Hydrogen Peroxide is mostly used as bleach in textile and paper industries, disinfectant and protective agent in health and food sectors, provider of dissolved oxygen into and remover of organic-inorganic contaminants from water in waste water refineries. Additionally, it is widely used as oxidizing agent in the chemicals industry.
Ak-Kim produces Hydrogen Peroxide in concentrations of 30%, 35%, 50%, 60%, and 70% and markets it in drums of 65 kg, IBC tanks of 1000 kg and as bulk.

In September 2006, Ak-Kim started production of Sodium Percarbonate that is one of its major investments done with technology developed by its own engineering team.
Ak-Kim achieved another important leap for Turkish Chemicals Industry with production of Sodium Percarbonate in Turkey for the first time as a result of intense efforts by Turkish engineers and technicians. Initial production capacity of this chemical agent which is one of the main raw materials of contemporary detergent formulations was designed as 20,000 tons/annum. In 2009 this capacity was reached to 40,000 tons/annum.
Sodium Percarbonate is produced with Fluidized Bed Granulation Process using Hydrogen Peroxide and Sodium Carbonate chemicals.
Sodium Percarbonate has strong bleaching, sterilizing, water softening, refining and deodorizing characteristics thanks to the Active Oxygen and Soda that it provides to water environment. In addition, it is an environmental friendly chemical agent for it is odorless and does not contain any chemicals detrimental to the human health or the environment.
Sodium Percarbonate is widely used in formulations of detergent and stain removing OXI products. In addition, it is also used as disinfectant, bleach, and deodorant in personal hygiene products; water treatment, firm surface cleaning, and mould removing processes.
Ak-Kim produces Sodium Percarbonate in packages of 25 kg and 1000 kg PE bags according to demand.
