Operating as a subsidiary of Akkök Holding, Akkim Kimya acquired Gizem Frit, one of the world’s leading enamel and ceramic frit producers, in order to extend the spectrum of its production and services.
At the press conference held to announce the acquisition, Mr. Onur Kipri, Akkim CEO, stated that Akkim plans to enter new areas of operation with the aim of maintaining its leading position and achieving progress. Mr. Kipri said: “In order to effectively support our company’s leading role in the chemicals industry, we decided to focus on the frit industry that attracted our attention with the size of its market. Within the framework of our vision, we acquired Gizem Frit, which is currently the third largest enamel frit producer in the world, with an expected annual growth of 4% until 2018. We believe that this acquisition will bring greater success to our country and contribute to achieving our goals.”
In addition to Mr. Kipri’s statements, Mr. Tolga Ballık, Gizem Frit CEO, said: “We decided that, in order to continue our success, it is better to make the much needed new investments within a corporate structure with a robust capital. With this acquisition, we will grow even stronger under the roof of Akkim, extend our customer portfolio and focus more on R&D.”
With this acquisition, Akkim plans to improve its leading position in the market by producing enamel and ceramic frit that are used in the coating process of many daily products, such as white goods, kitchenware, ceramics, aluminum, and glass bottles.
As one of the world’s leading enamel and ceramic frit manufacturers, Gizem Frit operates with approximately 300 employees in its Hendek facility built on a 60 thousand m² area with 30 thousand m² indoor space. Gizem Frit offers services to leading brands of the world, including Bosch-Siemens, Electrolux, Ariston, Arçelik, Vestel, Beko, Whirlpool, and Indesit.
